• What is Title I?
    Title I of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act provides financial assistance to state and local educational agencies to meet the needs of students who are considered at risk due to income status. See more at the Department of Education's Title I Website. 

    Which ASRSD schools receive Title I Services?
    Each of the four schools in the district receives Title I funding as outlined in the district's annual Title I Program Plan. 

    How does our school receive Title I money?
    Once the federal and state governments determine funding levels, we complete a grant application and submit it to the state. Funds are awarded in accordance with the plan and based on the number of students who are low-income in the district. It is important to note that Title I funding at ASRSD has decreased by over 40% since 2018.

    What services does Title I funding support?
    Schools identify their annual needs based on the neediest students. Schools set goals, implement plans and programs, and monitor progress of these students using the Title 1 funding. Recently, Title I has supported literacy and math support for students and staff throughout the district (e.g., Reading Intervention, Tutoring, Summer Programming, Summer Reading, Professional Development & Coaching, Supplies, Parent Engagement, etc.).
